Google Trends Tracking the Flu Virus Across The USA

Google Trends is a fantastic way for marketers to keep track of their search popularity and compare it to competitors. It has also been used for ‘good’ now too, with the nice people at Google tracking flu trends by measuring related key searches across different regions. When compared to results from the Centers for Disease Control a pattern emerges with the CDC only a shade ahead of the search results. This will be very useful for epidemiologists who can use the data to pre-empt the virus and maybe even enable health professionals to be better prepared.
Trends, already a great tool for busineses, is now open to all sorts of new applications in every aspect of life.

Get the lowdown on how it works right here.
